McAfee Icon Turned Black
Inorder to Enable the disabled McAfee services you need to follow the following steps. Right Click on McAfee A) VirusScan Online
Right-click on the icon by your system clock.
Click VirusScan Online .
Click Enable. Note : If the Enable option doesn't appear and you see the Disable option, then VirusScan Online is already enabled.
A confirmation window appears. Click OK .
B) Personal Firewall/Personal Firewall Plus
Right-click the McAfee icon.
Click Personal Firewall .
Click Enable . Note : If the Enable option doesn't appear and you see the Disable option, then Personal Firewall is already enabled.
C) Privacy Service
Right-click the McAfee icon.
Click Privacy Service .
Click Enable . Note : If the Enable option doesn't appear and you see the Disable option, then Privacy Service is already enabled.
Step 2: Restart Your Computer
Some updates require you to restart the computer. If you don't restart after such an update, the icon will remain black. Restart your computer.
Step 3: Verify Your Account Status
The icon will turn black if one of your installed services has expired. Verify your subscription status. If your subscription has expired, uninstall it .
Step 4: Delete MPF.adf
If you've uninstalled Personal Firewall/Plus and a message appears stating that it's disabled when you move your mouse cursor over the McAfee icon, do the following:
Double-click My Computer on the Desktop.
Double-click the C: drive.
Double-click Program Files .
Double-click the McAfee.com folder.
Double-click the Agent folder.
Double-click the App folder.
Right-click the ''MPF.adf'' file.
Click Delete .
Restart your computer.
